Cooking & Preparation Instructions
For the best results, cook directly from frozen. Do not thaw beforehand, or the delicate wonton skins will soften, stick together, and rip.
1.1. Bring Liquid to a Rolling Boil:Prepare your broth or soup base.
Bring a generous pot of water, clear chicken stock, or supreme broth to a vigorous, rolling boil. Wontons require plenty of space to swim so they do not crowd and tear.
2.2. Drop and Cook From Frozen:Medium-high heat, 5-6 mins.
Gently slide the frozen wontons into the boiling water. Use the back of a ladle or spoon to stir the pot in a circular motion, keeping them moving until they float to the surface. Lower the heat slightly to a steady simmer and cook for 5 to 6 minutes.
3.3. Serve in Style:Drain or serve in-pot.
Scoop the wontons out with a slotted spoon. Place them into a serving bowl filled with piping-hot noodle soup, or toss them directly with savory chili oil and sweet soy sauce for a Sichuan-style “Hong You” appetizer.
